ATV & Off Road Trauma Class
This 4-hour course is designed specifically for ATV riders, UTV, snowmobile, and other recreational trail users who want to be better prepared for emergencies in off-road environments. The class combines classroom instruction with hands-on skill building and scenario-based training, giving students both the knowledge and practical skills they can apply immediately in real-world situations.
Emergency First Aid Topics include:
Bleeding Control: Recognition and management of life-threatening bleeding with techniques like tourniquet application, wound packing, and emergency trauma bandages (ETB).
Airway Support: Recognition of airway compromise, airway positioning techniques such as Head-Tilt/Chin-Lift and Jaw Thrust, and familiarization with nasopharyngeal airways (NPA) for emergency use until EMS arrives.
Breathing Support: Apply chest seals to treat penetrating chest injuries in the field.
Basic Splinting: Learn to immobilize fractures and joint injuries using effective and improvised splinting techniques.
Scene Safety & Preparedness: Understand how to assess scene safety, work around bystanders, and identify key trauma items you should carry on every ride.

This course teaches skills for situational awareness and emergency intervention until licensed medical personnel arrive. It does not confer medical certification or a license to practice medicine.
